Meet Dr. Brandon R. Fadner

Cypress and Houston bariatric surgeon: Dr. Brandon R. FadnerDr. Brandon R. Fadner, a native Texan, was born and raised in the Houston-area. In addition to being an exemplary high school student, he was a standout Track and Field athlete, and went on to compete at the NCAA Division 1 level.

Dr. Fadner attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. While at Texas A&M, he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and held leadership positions within several different student organizations.

Dr. Fadner obtained his medical degree from the University Of Texas McGovern Medical School, located in the world-famous Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. During medical school he found his calling on his surgical rotation.

Dr. Fadner completed his residency training in General Surgery in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the University of Oklahoma Health and Sciences Center. During his time as a resident, he won several awards for teaching excellence. His surgical training was broad-based, but he naturally gravitated towards minimally invasive surgery. More specifically, he developed a passion for the treatment of obesity through minimally invasive techniques.

After completion of his surgical residency training, Dr. Fadner returned to Houston to complete a fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at the nationally recognized Davis Clinic in Houston, Texas. During his fellowship, he was mentored by Drs. Garth Davis and Anthony Primomo; both of whom are recognized experts in the field of Bariatric Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Fadner was trained in robotic surgery by Dr. Erik Wilson who is a pioneer in the field.

Due to his receiving advanced laparoscopic surgical training, Dr. Fadner is able to offer his patients a wide variety of surgical options to help them achieve their goals. In order to help his patients lose weight, he performs the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, and Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. Additionally, he offers revisional bariatric surgery to those patients who have already undergone a surgical weight loss procedure and are unsatisfied with their results. He received advanced endoscopy training as well, and is happy to offer those services to his patients.

During his fellowship, Dr. Fadner gained valuable experience in the surgical treatment of gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophageal motility disorders. As such, he offers his patients Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication to treat GERD, and Laparoscopic Heller Myotomy to treat Achalasia. Finally, he offers a wide range of general surgery operations to his patients. These include but are not limited to, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic colon resection, and laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
